Snow Day

No exaggeration...we got 13 and a half feet of snow last night. At least it felt as much while I was digging out my car.

I leave tomorrow for a squash tournament in Smithers. It will be the first time I have played in an out-of-town tourney. Looks like a few familiar names but it will be interesting to play new people on a court that I have never stepped foot upon. Aside from all that, life has been relatively dull.

First Casino Cash Game

I played my first ever ring game at a casino. It was a 1/2 dollar game at the Treasure Cove Casino. I played well and would have made money for the weekend...but for a nine on the river. All in all, it was a great weekend with free travel and accomodation.

Onto other life topics. My father is about to run out of his short term disability money. Seems strange that the money would dry up well before the doctors appointments. He is doing fine physically, but it is never good to wonder how it will be before you get another paycheck.

Weekend Of Pain!

I had a squash tournament this past weekend. I am also playing squash every day this week. Needless to say, I ache from head to toe. I finished in second in my division (but, thanks to the horrible local reporting, the newspaper listed me as the winner!). I played well, but missed a stroke call for match point..ooops!

My continuing online poker addiction is growing. I am at this moment making money on the Full Tilt site. The lack of realism on this site will eventually take all my cash away. Next week I will have my first attempt playing poker in a brick and mortar casino.

I can not believe the amount of snow we are getting.. ENOUGH!!!

Another Day, Another Post

I am going to try hard to not go a calendar year before posting here. Today was an eventful-ish day. My poker addiction reached a new peak, as I have attempted to lose money on both Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker on the same day. So far, it has been an overwhelming success. I find Full Tilt to be the least realistic cards of all (or possibly just a horrible run of cards for me?).

Aside from that..what else? Hmm...oh, one of my closest friends had a child recently. She has a lovely baby girl, who comes with a despicable "baby's daddy." The father of the child walked out on the mother whilst she was 6 months pregnant. Someday I hope to be that classy.

Been Nearly A Year...

I notice that it has been nearly a year since I posted anything on this site. It isn't like much has happened though...unless you include the near death of my father. He miraculously survived and abdominal aortic aneurysm over the Christmas holidays. The doctors told me to basically say my goodbyes as they loaded him up to fly him to St Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. He defied the odds and is on the mend at this very moment.

I have also began to experience the feeling of reminiscing about my younger years. I was contacted by a friend that I met in kindergarten, and we have gradually discussed everyone we could vaguely remember from 1980-1987. Good times, that make me feel old as hell.

I may decide to use this site to document my addiction to poker and its contribution to my demise.
